Eat and Drink

There are lots of restaurants and bars we can recommend. Here are a few:

  • El Punto Encentro - One of our nearby locals, a great place to eat, drink, and people-watch in the old town. Food and wine are excellent with a chilled atmosphere.

  • The Garden - El Jardin - At the top of the village. Wonderful views, romantic, great food and wine. Views of the old town across the mountains.

  • La Taperia - We love this place. More Moroccan-based food. Friendly and warm. Opposite the Three Cultures Square.

  • Rumba and Candela - If you want an excellent steak, this place will not disappoint. Run by the Salsa couple of Frigiliana.

There are a few places that we just want to keep a secret. Don’t tell anyone, but if you want a consistently good filling meal with delightful hosts all at a great price, Bar La Alegria del Barrio. It’s been going for 50-odd years, and there's a reason why. No frills. Local, authentic, a proper bar…. Shush, don’t tell anyone else…..

The Pensionistas Bar - A few feet away.  A local bar, great value and sometimes you might catch the elders of the village passing a guitar around the table, taking turns singing; now that's a treat to behold…

There are lots that I haven’t mentioned, and to be honest, you don’t get a bad meal in Frigiliana in our experience, so just wander and enjoy…….
